Mother Nature and Her Forces

Throuought the ages, there have been millions of different types of building materials ranging from mud and adobe to straw.  With the different types of building materials that are out there, What makes our buildings so special today?  Our materials today are the most efficient and range widely depending on the area that you are building.  Today you see wood walls with house wrap, drywall, insulation and a concrete foundation.  This is typical for a place such as Northern Wisconsin.  You would see brick and cement in Florida because of its ability to resist a hurricane.  Everywhere you go, there are different types of residential buildings.  In places such as the desert, you would see all concrete with an airconditioning unit and a furnace for its cold nights.

Depending on where you live geographically, you will see a wide variety of building materials.  With modern chemistry, you can live almost anywhere despite mother nature and her brutal forces. Throuought the ages, we have perfected the art of building based on geographical features.  Now you can live where you never thought you could before due to the chemistry behind all of the building components.
