Builder's Code

You can't just build a garage or a house without several permits and without mandatory requirements being in place.  In essentially all states, there is a mandatory set of rules and regulations that must be followed in order to construct any form of a building.  Failure to comply with these regulations will result in a major fine and the building may be considered condemned and you will not have the ability to occupy it.  All builders follow a certain state-mandated code.  For example, it is a regulation that you will have a railing on a deck four feet tall or higher.  It is a mandate to have studs 16 inches on center for residential buildings.

All people working in a form of construction must consult with these mandates on a regular basis.  Without these regulations, buildings may be poorly built and be unsafe.  These regulations are meant to keep us safe and prevent any potential injuries in the building process as well as after the building process.  Just think, that when somebody built your house, they consulted with these codes almost every step of the way.  There is no residential building that isn't involved with any form of builder's code.  Even woodsheds are supposed to be up to code.  Codes are beneficial to the government and to the consumer because of the safety aspect as well as the commercial aspect.
